I’ve been knee deep in creating a homemade and handmade Christmas this past few weeks. From getting my home set up, to hosting five festive workshops. There has been a flurry of handmade activity to make the upcoming festivities feel really special.
For the first week of December I set myself a challenge over on Instagram (find me @lottsandlots). To share a reel a day. It was fun to document my projects as I got myself in Christmas mode. There was a full mix of projects from fresh flower displays to different ways to wrap and decorate gift vouchers. It was all a bit random but fun to do.
Christmas is my favourite time of year to let loose creatively. There are more ideas than days. I should really start my projects in June to get them all done. If there are any publishers reading, I could write a really beautiful Christmas book for you with all the projects still to be done.
Anyway, back to today’s post. I want to give you an overview of some of the handmade elements I have added to my home. I like to mix and match previous years DIY’s to create new displays and set ups. Each year we start with the handmade advent calendar then work on the tree. The tree is a mis-match of DIY’s past and ornaments given to the children. The years are passing with such speed, the tree serves as a memory book for the different phases we have gone through. It takes ages, mainly because I spend a lot of time going through old photos on my phone!
As there is Lotts and Lots to share, I won’t write for too long. Instead I’ll put some links below of past projects to get inspired by. They are simple so still time to get yourself sorted before Christmas if you’d like to add a handmade touch to your celebrations.
