The temperature has dropped enough in the last week to start thinking cosy and with it glimmers of Christmas Workshops. This year I’ll be returning to a few of my favourite teaching venues – Market West Coffee, I’ll be at the Rochford and Hockley Shops. After the success of wreath workshops for Essex Wildlife Trust, Langdon Hills there will be two sessions happening on Saturday 28th November.

Before we start, if you have just found my website, ‘hello!’. My name is Charlotte or Lotts to my friends and I have been running unique and personal craft and flower workshops over the last 14 years. I have written for magazines and websites as well as hosting in person workshops from my home and garden in Leigh-on-sea, Essex. I am SO passionate about giving my fellow humans, space and time for creativity. My specialist skill is igniting the first spark of inspiration.
I love hosting at home as it gives my students the opportunity to see what I create in real life. Giving them the confidence and skills to keep creating long after the workshop has finished.
My workshops are centred around the seasons and making the everyday beautiful. Each workshop is calm, fun and hugely enjoyable. I never want anyone to feel uncomfortable or unable. With many workshops under my belt, I allow space for us to explore each topic, even Christmas wreaths.
This year with costs rising, the workshops I host at home will really focus on what we can create with what we have. My Bay Tree is abundant and ready for you! If you want your wreaths to have a natural and wild feel, these will be the workshops you! The wreath workshops I run at my other venues will have a more traditional feel. I source a great selection British Grown Christmas foliage.

ONLINE GIFT WRAPPING WORKSHOP
Sunday 22nd November – 3 ~ 4pm – £18pp

This was run as a private workshop last year for a remote team activity and it went really well. I’ll demonstrate how I wrap a beautiful present from start to finish. This includes how to print and make your own gift wrap, the actual wrapping process, how to tie a bow and make magical present toppers as well as a few examples for terrific tags. I’ll send a materials list and there will be time to have a go and ask me questions.
DECEMBER ‘QUICKIE’ WREATH MAKING WORKSHOP
Saturday 5th December ~ 11am – 1pm ~ £48

Everyone is welcome to join us at the table this December for a celebration of the seasons and watching the garden grow. December concludes a years worth of making alongside the garden. I have been growing some really unusual foliage as well as winter classics like Bay, Olive and Eucalyptus. These will be woven into our wreaths with more traditional foliage like classic pine.
I provide a handmade moss wreath base to work from as well as all the materials and trimmings such as velvet ribbons and dried fruits to make your wreath sing (not literally!). As well as a proper cup of tea/coffee to keep us going! It is a great morning if you want to feel nourishing festive feels and have a moment during a busy season.
WINTER GARLANDS AND FESTIVE FOLIAGE DECORATIONS
Sunday 13th December ~ 1 – 3pm ~ £48pp

You’ll either make; 1 long garland (approx 1 metre), 1 small garland (approx. 50cm) and a mini wreath or 2 small mini wreaths .
Garland making is one of my favourite things to do. Join me at the table for a few hours of pure Christmas joy. These fresh foliage garlands, filled with ribbons, fruit and other fabulous things can be used in many different ways. From windows, mantles and cupboard tops to decorating the Christmas table. Garland making is a skill for life!
By this point in December I have gone a bit doolally! There will also be the opportunity to make mini wreath table decorations using fresh wreath bases and foliage. This is my last workshop of the year and I want it to be as fun as possible. It’ll be a glorious floral free-for-all! With all materials and refreshments provided.
Traditional Wreath Making at Market West Coffee.
This will be the 4th year (wow) that I’ll be teaching wreath making at Market West. I can’t think of a sweeter place to start. This is a traditional wreath workshop full of pine and prosecco! Each ticket includes a glass of fizz/coffee/hot chocolate plus a mice pie to get you in the mood. I bring all the materials and trimmings, all you need to do is turn up with the Christmas Spirit! As there are now two shops I’ll be teaching at both.

Traditional Nature Inspired Christmas Wreath Making at Essex Wildlife Trust, Langdon Hills.
The drive to Essex Wildlife Trust, Langdon Hills is gorgeous, twisty lanes and wizened trees make these workshops feel really grounded. I’ll be teaching a morning and afternoon wreath workshop. It’s a really nice straight forward workshop; starting with a handmade moss wreath base, a mix of traditional and seasonal foliage to work into a wreath followed by bow making and other festive finishes. Lovely Stuff!
