I’ve been having some fun over on Instagram and posting a Reel every Friday, highlighting what I’ve been doing with my flowers that week. It started when I  didn’t have much in bloom but become a nice way to round out the week.

The reel I did for these photos went down reel-y (sorry!) well. Milly, my daughter, told me I needed to change the tablecloth so I went for something bright and pink to counteract these dreary July days we’ve been having. This tie-dye  tablecloth was a DIY from years ago and is always fun to bring back out. I’d been having lots of conversations with brides about jam jar flowers so wanted to share how I’m styling them at the moment.

I like them simple with no frills, either one colour or type of flower per jar,  layered onto vintage plates for a dash of colour. To be honest with you, I really tend to use whatever I have to hand and normally have a surplus of one type of flower left over or vintage treasures gathered in charity shops and yet to be put away. These colours really worked so well together and the flowers – a mix of scabiosca, sweet peas, Roman chamomile and snap dragons – made everything feel light and playful.
