I love summer, there is a quiet beauty to winter that I have come to appreciate but it’s summer I want hold onto. With the seasons changing, each moment the sun shines and feels warm on my skin, is moment I want to keep. These gorgeous warm days are meant to be enjoyed outside as much as possible – I’ve cleared the patio of washing and set the table for a weekend dinner.
My lovely Stanley helped me pick the flowers. I had to let go of what I envisioned the table looking like in my head as he happily helped himself to random flowers from the cutting beds. I did enjoy using my new treasures collected on our summer travels – vases from Portugal and napkins from Suffolk. They sit happily mixed with our everyday items from Ikea. I love a layered table and had fun mixing the different Indian block print tablecloth and napkins. I’m so tempted to keep my extra special tableware for best but I think it’s important to use everything as much as possible, wherever possible. My go to colour palette is always pink, yellow and green so everything naturally goes together – even the crazy mix of late summer flowers! If you follow me on Instagram (@lottsandlots) look out for the reel I made of us putting this table together.
