I’m so proud of this one, over the first May bank holiday I held a pop up flower shop with my friends at Boni Vee. Viv kindly lent me a counter in her Aladdin’s cave of a hardware shop, these fresh flowers looked very comfortable amoungst her amazing selection of house plants, garden bedding and fabulous pots.
I came fully loaded with a selection of tulips and mixed spring bouquets, a selection of pickle and jam jars and plenty of flower chat! During the winter months growing flowers can be a lonely business so getting out and about, meeting new faces and catching up with old customers is just wonderful. I loved being able to see people light up and enjoy the flowers as much as I do.
I’m still fairly new to this business so working out the best way to sell flowers is something I’m continuously working on. Bouquets went down really well and I’m really pleased with how far I’ve come from those very first jam jars I sold two years ago. Stem length (the number one aim in flower farming) was cracking and I could really see such an improvement on the quality of flowers I’ve been producing. The 2022 flower season is getting started, I can’t wait to see what else the flowers and I can do this year.
I’ll be delivering flowers to Boni – Vee every Thursday and have them available to buy direct from me throughout the week.
