One of my ‘goals’ for 2025, if you like, is to share more seasonal flowers. Especially British Grown Bouquets. Over the course of my growing year I make lots of different styles from best of the week bunches to beautiful bridal bouquets.

However, usually due to lack of time, I rarely photograph them. When working on a wedding they are the last items I make up. I’m conscious of causing any damage to petals so only really photograph them for my own reference. I take thousands of photos every year but find photographing  bouquets the hardest. They are designed to be seen from all angles which doesn’t always translate through the lens. They need human interaction to perform. That’s what I think anyway!

This year, I’m going to save a bucket and create a bouquet just for the internet. I’m hoping that not only will it strengthen our connection to the seasons and showcase monthly flowers. It’ll also give you a greater idea of the kind of work I create. Of course nature being nature, there will be a few lessons thrown in along the way.

January’s British Grown Bouquet is a simple mix of fresh greens and whites. Enhanced with a hand-dyed silk bow, dyed using eucalyptus leaves. I gathered olive, cineraria, rose hips, paperwhites, dried verbena hastata and a single stem of Iceburg rose. I wanted to create a petite bouquet with a bride who wanted something simple in mind. Of course this is a perfect bridesmaid bouquet too, designed to compliment but not over power.

I’m looking forward to a embarking on a seasonal journey with you this year. Don’t forget you can join my mailing list, if you’d like information sent directly. If you are interested in talking flowers for any celebration please get in touch via my contact page.
