Taking a moment for the Roses

Today I’m taking a moment for the Roses. The rose crop this year was beyond beautiful. I’m so glad I took some time to gather as many buds as I could for a little photoshoot.

A deep prune in February and a thorough bed clear gave them the space they needed to reach their full potential. They have since passed and been carefully deadheaded, ready for a second or third flush. If you’d like to know more about the varieties, there is a detailed post here. However most are from David Austin.

There was a second reason for taking these photos. As they were fully blooming an amazing wedding brief came in. It was a dream request with all my favourite key words: blousy, bursting roses, strawberry and currant leaves to back them up. An opportunity too good to let pass. The wedding is not until late July, I’m nervous but also really excited to get working on it. Just keeping an eye on the new buds until then!

If you are looking for wedding flowers with a relaxed and just picked feel. Or something a little different do get in touch. Bringing your ideas to reality is a passion of mine and I’d love to work with you.
